How to transfer video to a computer

The procedure to transfer video to a computer will vary depending on the type of camcorder you have and the type of connection you are using.
Simply click on the list item representing the type of Camcorder and connection you would like to use for the video transfer.
- Make sure you disabled the standby mode on your computer.
- Connect the camera to the mains.
- Connect the camera to your computer with an IEEE-1394 cable (optional).
- Turn the camera on and set it to play mode (or PC mode), depending on the camera model.
- Open iMovie. You can now import video from your camcorder using the controls in iMovie.
Importing videos to a computer using iMovie '08
Importing videos recorded on a tape
STEP 1: Connecting
Videos recorded in x.v.Color can be played back with non-x.v.Color-compliant devices, however, an x.v.Color-compliant device is necessary for accurate color reproduction.
- Turn on the computer.
- Insert the tape into your camcorder.
- Slide the POWER switch on the camcorder to the [PLAY/EDIT] position.
- Set the [VCR HDV/DV] and [i.LINK CONV] menu settings as follows.

Note: If you use Macintosh, you cannot convert videos recorded in the HDV format to the DV format and import them. - Connect the camcorder to the computer using the i.LINK cable as shown.
When an i.LINK cable is connected, the format of the output signal (HDV or DV) will be indicated on the LCD screen of your camcorder.
STEP 2: Viewing
- Start iMovie '08.
- A device where the images are stored is shown.
Confirm that "HDV-VCR (HDV)" is selected for HDV format, and "DV-VCR (DV)" for DV format.
When importing all the videos:You cannot import videos from the tape which includes both HDV format and DV format.
(1) Click [Automatic].
(2) Click [Import].
(3) Select the location to save, input an event name in [Creat new Event], and click [OK].
(4) The tape will be rewound and all the videos will be imported.
(5) When [Camera Import Complete] is displayed, click [OK].
When importing selected videos:
(1) Click [Manual].
(2) Use the control buttons and rewind or fast-forward the tape to the point you want to start importing.
(3). Click [Import].
(4) Select the location to save, input an event name in [Creat new Event], and click [OK].
(5). Importing starts. Click [Stop] when you want to finish importing.
- The list of the imported videos is shown. This is the end of importing.
For editing, refer to [Help] - [iMovie Help].

An Intel processor is required for AVCHD video support. Mac OS X version 10.5 (Leopard) or later is required for AVCHD DVD camcorder support. However, to import the HD (AVCHD) content to an Intel-based Mac, you must first erase the SD (MPEG-2) content on the camera. |
To import the video, you'll need to connect your device to your computer using a USB cable. One end of your USB cable plugs into your computer, as shown here:

- Make sure you disabled the standby mode on your computer.
- Connect the camera to the mains and connect the USB cable to the camera (at this stage, do not connect the camera to the computer.).
- Turn the camera on.
- Connect the camera to the computer with the USB cable.
- Open iMovie and wait until the camera is fully detected (this may take several minutes as detection time depends on the movie length.).
- When the camera is detected, movie thumbnails and the Import window appear. If the Hard Disk Drive (HDD) is full, it may take 1.5 hours.

Importing videos recorded on "Memory Stick Duo" or internal memory
STEP 1: Connecting
- Turn on the computer.
- If you import videos on "Memory Stick Duo", insert "Memory Stick Duo" into your camcorder.
- Connect the AC Adaptor and the power cord (mains lead) to your camcorder and the wall outlet (wall socket).
- Turn on the camcorder.
- Connect the camcorder to the computer using the supplied USB cable as shown.
The [USB SELECT] screen appears on the camcorder automatically.
- Select [
USB CONNECT] or [ 
USB CONNECT] on the camcorder screen.
An "Untitled" icon appears on the computer desktop.
STEP 2: Viewing
- Start iMovie '08.
- A device where the images are stored is shown.
Confirm that "Untitled" is selected in the Camera setting.
When importing all the videos:
(1) Click [Automatic].
(2) Click [Import All].
When importing selected videos:
(1) Click [Manual].
(2) Click and check the boxes under the videos you want to import.
(3) Click [Import Checked].
- Select the location to save, input an event name in [Creat new Event], and click [OK].
- Import of videos starts. When the [Import complete] message appears, click [OK].
- List of imported videos is shown. This is the end of importing videos.
- * For editing, refer to [Help] - [iMovie Help].
- * When disconnecting the USB cable, drag the [Untitled] icon to the [Trash] icon or turn off the computer before disconnecting the USB cable.

STEP 1: Connecting

- Connect the AC Adaptor and the power cord (mains lead) to your camcorder and the wall outlet (wall socket).
- Turn on the camcorder.
- Insert the recorded 8cm DVD disc into your camcorder.
- Connect the camcorder to the computer using the supplied USB cable as shown.
The [USB SELECT] screen appears on the camcorder automatically.
- Select [
USB CONNECT] on the camcorder screen.
A DVD icon appears on the computer desktop.
STEP 2: Viewing
- Start iMovie '08.
- A device where the images are stored is shown.
Confirm that the camera name is the same as shown in the STEP 1.
When importing all the videos:
(1) Click [Automatic].
(2) Click [Import All].
When importing selected videos:
(1) Click [Manual].
(2) Click and check the boxes under the videos you want to import.
(3) Click [Import Checked]. - Select the location to save, input an event name in [Creat new Event], and click [OK].
- Import of videos starts. When the [Import complete] message appears, click [OK].
- List of imported videos is shown. This is the end of importing videos.
For editing, refer to [Help] - [iMovie Help].
When disconnecting the USB cable, drag the DVD icon to the [Trash] icon or turn off the computer before disconnecting the USB cable.

Importing videos recorded on the hard disk drive of your camcorder
STEP 1: Connecting
- Turn on the computer.
If you use laptop or notebook computer, use the AC adaptor to keep the power source. - Connect the AC Adaptor and the power cord (mains lead) to your camcorder and the wall outlet (wall socket).
- Turn on the camcorder.
- Connect the camcorder to the computer using the supplied USB cable as shown.
The [USB SELECT] screen appears on the camcorder automatically.
- Select [
USB CONNECT] on the camcorder screen.
A "NO NAME" icon appears on the computer desktop.
STEP 2: Viewing
- Start iMovie '08.
- A device where the images are stored is shown.
Confirm that "NO NAME" is selected in the Camera setting.
When importing all the videos:
(1) Click [Automatic].
(2) Click [Import All].
When importing selected videos:
(1) Click [Manual].
(2) Click and check the boxes under the videos you want to import.
(3) Click [Import Checked]. - Select the location to save, input an event name in [Creat new Event], and click [OK].
- Import of videos starts. When the [Import complete] message appears, click [OK].
- List of imported videos is shown. This is the end of importing videos.
For editing, refer to [Help] - [iMovie Help].
When disconnecting the USB cable, drag the [NO NAME] icon to the [Trash] icon or turn off the computer before disconnecting the USB cable.

Important notes about Microsoft Windows Vista™
- The drivers required to connect most Sony cameras and camcorders are already included in the Microsoft Windows Vista™ operating system.
- In some instances, the camera or camcorder may not be recognized by the computer when connected.
- Not all Sony camcorders are compatible. For these camcorders, operation with the Microsoft Windows Vista™ operating system is not guaranteed.

The procedure to transfer video to a computer will vary depending on the type of camcorder you have and the type of connection you are using.
Select the type of camcorder you have:
- Hard Disk Drive
- Standard 8mm and Hi8
- Mini DV
- Digital8
- DVD camcorder

- Memory Stick PRO Duo™

IMPORTANT
Movie player applications must support mpeg 2 playback to open these files properly. Refer to the software manufacturer for additional information and available updates.
- Turn on the computer.
- Make sure the camcorder is turned off.
- Connect the camcorder to the computer using the supplied USB cable.
- Plug the AC power adapter into an electrical wall outlet and then connect it to the camcorder.
- Open the LCD screen on the camcorder.
- Turn on the camcorder.
- The USB SELECT screen will be displayed on the LCD; touch the HDD icon.
- Open the My Computer window on the computer.
- In the My Computer window, double-click the icon that represents the camcorder and then navigate through the folder structure to locate the video you want to transfer.
Note: The camcorder will be listed in the My Computer window as an additional hard drive. - Click to select the video or image files you want to transfer.
Note: If your are using a High Definition Handycam® Camcorder, Sony recommends copying and pasting the AVCHD folder to the hard drive of the computer before accessing its contents. - Type CTRL+C to copy the files.
- Click on the computer folder to which you want to copy the video or still image files.
- Type CTRL+V to paste the file into the computer folder.
The help files should be available in the Help menu of the video capture software or in a separate file on the software disc. If you cannot find instructions in the help file or on the disc included with your software, consult the software manufacturer for more detailed support information.
- Connect an A/V cable to the A/V output jack of the camcorder:
If your camcorder has standard A/V RCA output jacks, use standard A/V cables for the connection.
If your camcorder has a mini A/V output jack, use an A/V cable with a mini connection on one end.
- Connect the other end of the A/V cable to the A/V input jack on the computer.
- Turn on the camcorder to the VCR, VTR or PLAYBACK mode.
- Cue the video in the camcorder to the beginning of the video footage to be transferred.
- Turn on the computer.
- Start the video capture software.
- Begin playing the video in the camcorder.
- Begin importing the video with the video capture software.
The help files should be available in the Help menu of the video capture software or in a separate file on the software disc. If you cannot find instructions in the help file or on the disc included with your software, consult the software manufacturer for more detailed support information.
- Connect an A/V cable to the A/V output jack of the camcorder:
If your camcorder has standard A/V RCA output jacks, use standard A/V cables for the connection.
If your camcorder has a mini A/V output jack, use an A/V cable with a mini connection on one end. - Connect the other end of the A/V cable to the A/V input jack on the computer.
- Turn on the camcorder to the VCR, VTR or PLAYBACK mode.
- Cue the video in the camcorder to the beginning of the video footage to be transferred.
- Turn on the computer.
- Start the video capture software.
- Begin playing the video in the camcorder.
- Begin importing the video with the video capture software.

However, if your camcorder and/or your computer are not equipped with an IEEE-1394 connector and only have USB, please follow the below instructions to install the USB driver and Picture package Software bundled with your camcorder under Microsoft Windows Vista.
Note: Success by using the below procedure is not guaranteed with all Digital8 / DV Camcorders and computer configurations.
- USB driver installation and connection of your Sony Handycam to Windows Vista via USB (USB streaming - Webcam)
Download the driver
- Click here to download the USBDRVEN.EXE file to your Desktop.
- When the download is complete, double-click the USBDRVEN.EXE file on your Desktop. Click "Reference..." and select "Desktop". Click "OK" to continue.
- The "Program Compatibility Assistant" will appear. Click "This program installed correctly".
Install the driver
Important: make sure that your camera is not connected to your computer.- A folder named Sony_usb is now created on your Desktop. Double-click this folder to see its contents.
- Locate the "Setup" file. DO NOT DOUBLE-CLICK this file. Right-click the file and select "Properties".
- Click the "Compatibility" tab and check the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" box and select "Windows XP (Service Pack 2) in the drop down list.
- Check the "Run this program as an administrator" box in the "Privilege level".
- Click "Apply" and then "OK".
- Double-click the "Setup" file.
- The InstallShield Wizard window will appear. Click "Next" to install the driver.
- Make sure that your camera is not connected to your computer and click "Next" when the window below appears.
- Wait until the installation is complete (it may take a few minutes).
A window will appear asking to restart your computer. Select "Yes, I want to restart my computer now". And then click "Finish".
- Your computer is restarting.
Connect your camcorder
- Before connecting your camcorder, make sure that the USB streaming function is activated. Go to the camera menu and set the USB streaming function to "On". Exit the camera menu.
- Connect the camera to your computer with a USB cable and turn it on.
- The "Found New Hardware" wizard appears. Click "Locate and install driver software (recommended).
- When the "Windows Security" windows appear, click "Install this driver software anyway".
- The driver in being installed. This may take a few minutes, until a message appears in the Windows task bar.
Confirm that your camcorder is correctly installed
- Open the "Control Panel" of your computer, and select "Hardware and Sound". Open "Device Manager".
- Check that your Sony camera is listed under "Imaging Devices".
- Your camera is now correctly installed in Windows Vista.
- Installing Picture Package for Handycam in Microsoft Windows Vista
- Insert the installation CD that was delivered with your Handycam in your computer.
- Click the "Start" button in the task bar and go to "Computer".
- Right click the CD/DVD drive and select "Explore".
- Locate and right-click the "Install" file.
- Click "Properties".
- Click the "Compatibility" tab. In the "Compatibility mode" drop down list, select "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" and check the "Run this program in compatible mode for:" and the "Run this program as an administrator" boxes.
- Click "Apply" and then click "OK".
- Now, you can double-click the "Install" file.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to install Picture Package.
Note: If the above procedure is unsuccessful (as it is not guaranteed with all camcorders and computer configurations):
- please use the following Uninstallation Tool for "Picture Package" and "ImageMixer Ver.1.5" in order to properly remove the software from your computer.
- Contact your dealer for third party solutions, or contact Sony.
- Turn on the computer.
- On the computer, install the USB driver for the digital camcorder.
Note: Only the USB driver included on the supplied CDROM will properly enable the digital camcorder for USB streaming. Alternatively, you can download the USB driver here. - Turn on the digital camcorder to the VTR, VCR or PLAYBACK mode.
- Turn on the USB streaming feature of the digital camcorder.
- Connect the USB cable to the digital camcorder.
- Connect the other end of the USB cable to the computer.
- Cue the video to the beginning of the video footage to be transferred.
- Start the video capture software on the computer.
- Begin playing the recorded video in the camcorder.
- Begin importing the recorded video with the capture software.

- Connect an i.LINK® cable (also known as IEEE-1394) to the i.LINK port
on
the digital camcorder. - Connect the other end of the i.LINK® cable to the computer.
NOTES
The computer i.LINK® ports and capture cards may have either 4-pin or 6-pin connections; Sony® digital camcorders use i.LINK® ports with 4 pins. If your computer only has a 6-pin i.LINK® port, then it will be necessary to use a 4-pin to 6-pin i.LINK® cable.
- Turn on the digital camcorder by moving the POWER switch to the VTR position.
- Cue the camcorder to the beginning of the video.
- Turn on the computer.
- Start the video capture software on the computer.
- Begin playing the recorded video in the camcorder.
- Begin importing the video with the capture software.

The computer must have standard Audio/Video (A/V) RCA input jacks and compatible video capture software to complete this procedure. Because there are many different video capture applications on the market and we cannot reasonably know which video capture software you are using, Sony is unable to provide specific instructions or support for software we do not manufacture. However, many video capture applications have detailed help files, including specific instructions about capturing and importing video from a camcorder to a computer.

Connect your camcorder

IMPORTANT
The DVD must be finalized in the camcorder prior to beginning this procedure.
Do not use an 8cm CD adapter with the 8cm DVD. Doing so may cause a malfunction. If the DVD-ROM drive does not support an
8cm disc, use the USB transfer procedure instead.
- Insert the camcorder DVD into a computer DVD-ROM drive that supports 8cm discs.
- On the computer desktop, click the Start button and then click My Computer.
NOTES: If available, you can double-click the My Computer icon on the desktop instead.
- In the My Computer window, right-click the DVD Drive icon, then click Open.
- Right-click the appropriate folder and then click Copy.
- For still images, right-click the DCIM folder.
- For movie files, right-click the VIDEO_TS folder. - Right-click on the desktop and then click Paste.
NOTES: The folder and all the contents in the folder will be copied to the desktop of the computer.
- On the computer desktop, right-click the newly copied folder and then click Rename.
- Type a new name for the folder.
- Press the ENTER key on the keyboard.
NOTES: This solution only applies to DVD-RW, DVD+RW, and DVD-R recorded with a DVD Handycam® camcorder. Copying still images and movie files from copyright-protected DVDs is not supported.
IMPORTANT
The computer must have a standard, factory-installed USB port and should be using the software that was bundled with the camcorder to complete this procedure.
- Turn on the computer.
- Using the software disc provided with the camcorder, install the USB driver on the computer.
- After the USB drive has been installed, connect the USB cable to the DVD camcorder.
- Connect the other end of the USB cable to the computer.
- Turn on the DVD camcorder to the playback mode.
Picture Package™ software
- Start the Picture Package™ DVD Viewer software.
- On the left-hand side of the Picture Package DVD Viewer window, click the DVD tab.
- On the DVD tab, click DVD Handycam.
- Under DVD Handycam click to select Movies or Still Images.
- In the right-hand window, click to select the desired movies or still images.
NOTES: To select all the movies or still images, click the Select all in this page button at the top of the window.
- In the lower-right corner, click the Copy to hard disc button.
- After copying is complete, click the OK button in the Picture Package DVD Viewer dialog box that appears.
- Close the Picture Package DVD Viewer software when finished.
Direct Transfer
You can also copy the video or still images to the computer using the steps below:
- Open the LCD screen of the camcorder.
- On the LCD screen, touch the COMPUTER icon.
- Open the My Computer window on the computer.
NOTES: The camcorder will be listed in the My Computer window as an additional DVD-RW drive.
- In the My Computer window, open the DVD-RW icon that represents the camcorder.
- Click to select the VIDEO_TS folder (or BDMV folder for high-definition video recorded with an AVCHD DVD camcorder).
- Press the CTRL+C keys on the keyboard to copy the folder and all its contents.
- Click on the computer desktop or folder where you want to copy the video contents.
- Press the CTRL+V keys on the keyboard to paste the folder and its contents into the desired location.

PIXELA ImageMixer™ software
- On the ImageMixer screen, click the Capture Environment icon.
- In the ImageMixer dialog box, click the OK button.
- Click the Tools icon.
- In the Capturing/Recording Preferences window, in the Destination of Captured/Recorded Files section, click the Browse button.
- In the Browse for Folder window, click to select the folder where you want to copy the video or picture files (For example, the My Documents folder).
- Click the OK button.
- In the Capturing/Recording Preferences window, click the OK button.
- In the upper-left corner of the ImageMixer screen, click either the Camcorder or Camera icon.
NOTES: Click the Camcorder icon to display a list of the video files on the camcorder disc. Click the Camera icon to display a list of still picture files on the camcorder disc.
- Use the computer mouse to select the video or picture files you want to transfer.
NOTES: Pressing the Shift or Ctrl key on you keyboard while using the mouse will allow you to select multiple files.
- Click the Capture button.
NOTES: A progress bar labeled Now copying data to PC will display on the screen. When copying is complete, the progress bar will disappear.
- Close the PIXELA ImageMixer™ software when finished.
Direct Transfer
You can also copy the video or still images to the computer using the steps below:

- In the Nero Express window, click Copy Entire Disc.
- Select the Sony DVD camcorder as the Source drive.
- Next to Source drive, click the down arrow button.
- In the drop-down list of available drives, click the drive that represents the Sony DVD camcorder.
- Select the destination drive.
- Next to Destination drive, click the down arrow button.
- In the drop-down list of available drives, click the drive where you want to save the DVD video or still images.
- Click the Copy button.
- In the Save Image File window, type a file name for the video and then click the Save button.
- If an Import Images window appears, click the Import button to transfer any still pictures from the DVD.
- When all video and pictures have been transferred, click the OK button in the Nero Express dialog box that appears.
- Click the Next button.
- Click the Exit button to close the Nero Express 6 software.
Direct Transfer
You can also copy the video or still images to the computer using the steps below:

- Connect an A/V cable to the A/V output jack of the camcorder:
If your camcorder has standard A/V RCA output jacks, use standard A/V cables for the connection.
If your camcorder has a mini A/V output jack, use an A/V cable with a mini connection on one end. - Connect the other end of the A/V cable to the A/V input jack on the computer.
- Turn on the camcorder to the VCR, VTR or PLAYBACK mode.
- Cue the video in the camcorder to the beginning of the video footage to be transferred.
- Turn on the computer.
- Start the video capture software.
- Begin playing the video in the camcorder.
- Begin importing the video with the video capture software.
The computer must have standard Audio/Video (A/V) RCA input jacks and compatible video capture software to complete this procedure. Because there are many different video capture applications on the market and we cannot reasonably know which video capture software you are using, Sony is unable to provide specific instructions or support for software we do not manufacture. However, many video capture applications have detailed help files, including specific instructions about capturing and importing video from a camcorder to a computer.
The help files should be available in the Help menu of the video capture software or in a separate file on the software disc. If you cannot find instructions in the help file or on the disc included with your software, consult the software manufacturer for more detailed support information.
- Connect an A/V cable to the A/V output jack of the camcorder:
If your camcorder has standard A/V RCA output jacks, use standard A/V cables for the connection.
If your camcorder has a mini A/V output jack, use an A/V cable with a mini connection on one end. - Connect the other end of the A/V cable to the A/V input jack on the computer.
- Turn on the camcorder to the VCR, VTR or PLAYBACK mode.
- Cue the video in the camcorder to the beginning of the video footage to be transferred.
- Turn on the computer.
- Start the video capture software.
- Begin playing the video in the camcorder.
- Begin importing the video with the video capture software.
IMPORTANT
To transfer video or still images from a MICROMV™ camcorder to a computer using an i.LINK® cable, the MovieShaker™ software is required (bundled with your MICROMV™ camcorder. Standard Digital Video (DV) software is not compatible. If you do not have the MovieShaker™ 3.1 software, please contact Sony. Otherwise, you can use Audio/Video (A/V) cables instead.
- Connect the camcorder to the computer using an i.LINK® cable.
- Turn on camcorder by moving the POWER switch to the VCR or VTR position.
- Start the MovieShaker™ software on the computer.

To capture multiple images (Batch Capture)
Notes:- Capturing stops if the MICROMV™ camcorder is disconnected from your computer, its power turned off, or the videotape ejected from the MICROMV™ camcorder.
- The "Batch Capture" function is disabled unless the MICROMV™ camcorder is in VCR mode.
- Insert a MICROMV™ tape containing video footage into the MICROMV™ device.
- Click the Capture tab. The Capture tab is highlighted, and the Monitor panel switches to the Capture tray.
The Tool panel displays the Index tray where the information of the images (e.g., date and time recorded) on the MICROMV™ device appears. - Click the Scan button. The dialogue box indicating scanning progress appears. When scanning is finished, the completion message is displayed.
- Click OK. The dialogue box closes. The thumbnail images are imported from the MICROMV™ device and displayed
on the Index tray.
Notes:
- The Scan button cannot be clicked after all thumbnail images have been imported.
- If the length of images recorded on a videotape is extremely short, thumbnail images may not be imported even when you click the Scan button.
- If the information of the images recorded on a videotap differ from the information of the images displayed on the Index tray, turn off the camera and turn it on again.
- Select the thumbnail image to be captured, and then click the Batch Capture button.
Hint:- To select more than one thumbnail image simultaneously, click on the desired thumbnail image while pressing the Ctrl key on your keyboard. To select a sequential block of thumbnail images, click on the first thumbnail image, and then click on the last thumbnail image while pressing the Shift key.
Notes:- When you capture images by clicking the Batch Capture button, images are not displayed on the monitor while capturing.
- Click OK. The confirmation dialogue box closes, and the dialogue box indicating capturing progress appears.
When capturing is finished, the dialogue box indication importing progress appears.
When importing all images is finished, the captured files are placed on the Clip tray.
To capture an image while playing it back
You can capture an image manually from a MICROMV™ device and specify desired parts while playing it back on the Movie Shaker monitor. The captured file is imported into the Clip tray.
Notes:
Capturing stops if the MICROMV™ device is disconnected from your computer, its power turned off, or the videotape ejected
from the MICROMV™ device.
- Insert a MICROMV™ tape containing video footage into the MICROMV™ device.
- Click the Capture tab. The Capture tab is highlighted, and the Monitor panel switches to the Capture tray.
The Tool panel displays the Index tray where the information of the images (e.g., date and time recorded) on the MICROMV™ device appears. - Stop playing the video tape just before the point you want to start capturing.
Notes: If the MICROMV™ device is in Camera mode, steps 3 and 4 are not necessary.
- Click the Play button. The image recorded in the videotape is playedback on the monitor.
- When the start point to be captured is displayed, click the Capture button to start capture.
- When the end point to be captured is displayed, click the Stop Capture button.
When capturing is finished, the dialogue box indication importing progress appears.
When importing all images is finished, the captured files are placed on the Clip tray.
To capture other images back to back, repeat step 3 to 6.Notes: You cannot capture images while they are displayed on the Full screen monitor.
To capture all images that have an index and arrange them on the Product Tray (dubbing)
You can automatically capture all images that have an index contained on the videotape. The captured files are imported into the Clip tray, and then are arranged on the Product tray as scenes (Dubbing).
Notes:
Capturing stops if the MICROMV™ device is disconnected from your computer, its power turned off, or the videotape
ejected from the MICROMV™ device.
The Dubbing function is disabled unless the MICROMV™ device is in VCR mode.
- Insert a MICROMV™ tape containing video footage into the MICROMV™ device.
- Click the Capture tab. The Capture tab is highlighted, and the Monitor panel switches to the Capture tray.
The Tool panel displays the Index tray where the information of the images (e.g., date and time recorded) on the MICROMV™ device appears. - Click the Dubbing button. The Dubbing - Batch Capturing dialogue box appears.
- Click OK. The Dubbing-Batch Capturing dialogue box appears. You can cancel capturing by clicking the Stop button while
capturing.
When capturing is finished, the dialogue box indicating importing progress appears.
When importing all images is finished, the captured files are placed on the Clip tray and they are automatically arranged on the Product tray as scenes.
Click Export if you want to export the scenes arranged on the Product tray.
- Turn on the computer.
- With the camcorder turned off, connect it to the computer using the supplied USB cable.
- Ensure the camcorder is connected to the AC power adapter and that it is plugged to the power supply.
NOTES: The battery pack can be used, but it should be fully charged before use.
- Open the LCD screen on the camcorder.
- Turn on the camcorder.
- On the LCD screen, touch the COMPUTER icon.
- Transfer the video to the computer using one of the following methods:
- Picture Motion Browser software
- Copy and paste the video files from the Removable Disk window that represents the camcorder.
- On the computer desktop, create a new folder.
- If the Removable Disc window is not showing, open the My Computer window and then click to select the Removable Disk icon.
- In the Removable Disk window, click to select all the folders and files listed.
- On the keyboard, press the CTRL+C keys to copy the folders and files.
- Open the new folder that you created.
- In the new folder, press the CTRL+V keys on the keyboard to paste the folders and files into the new folder.
- Rename the new folder.
