What is the Sony CompactFlash card Image Recovery Service?
The CompactFlash card Image Recovery Service is a service where we temporarily keep the CompactFlash cards of our customers while trying to recover unreadable or unintentionally deleted data on the cards. The service is intended for customers who purchased the Sony CompactFlash card 133x (NCFC) and 300x (NCFD) series.

Supported files
Still and motion images captured by digital cameras and the like.

Notes

  • The service is intended for the Sony CompactFlash card 133x (NCFC) and 300x (NCFD) series.
    The Sony CompactFlash card 66x (NCFB) series and CompactFlash cards made by manufacturers other than Sony are not supported.
  • The service does not guarantee the recovery of all files.
    It should be understood in advance that file recovery may not be available depending on the storage condition of the file.
  • Music, video, and other data that require copyright protection are not supported.
  • Cards in which high-value data are stored are not supported.
    We cannot assume responsibility or provide the service for cards storing such data.
  • Cards in which sensitive data are stored, including credit card/bank account numbers and other important personal information, are not supported.
    We cannot assume responsibility or provide the service for cards storing such data.
  • In the event of a malfunction or damage to the conpactFlash cards, please refer to the contact on your warranty card according your country.
  • We do not provide analysis services, such as tracking the cause of the CompactFlash card data corruption.
  • After the data is restored, we will return the CompactFlash card to the customer with a CD-R or DVD-R containing the restored data.
  • If the data cannot be restored, we will check that the card is fault-free and return the CompactFlash card as received.

  Receipt of the application form and starting image recovery

After the application form and CompactFlash card are received, we will start the image recovery.

After checking the application form for image recovery and the CompactFlash card received from the customer, we will start image recovery of the CompactFlash card.

The period of time after the application form is received to completion of the recovery is usually about one (1) week. Please note that it may take longer than the usual waiting period depending on the work required.

  Returning the CompactFlash card

We will return the CompactFlash card to the customer according to the following procedures:

When the data is restored, we will return the CompactFlash card to the customer with a CD-R or DVD-R containing the restored data. We will return the CF card as received. If the data cannot be restored, we will check that the card is fault-free and return the CompactFlash card as received.

* We may contact you when necessary concerning issues related to the product or service.

Printing the application form when a printer is unavailable.

When printing the application form and a printer is unavailable, provide the information requested below and send the information along with the CompactFlash card.

  1. Address
  2. Name
  3. Telephone number
  4. E-mail address (other than cell phone addresses)
  5. Model and capacity (2 GB or 4 GB) of the Sony CompactFlash card 133x (NCFC) series
  6. Describe the situation at the time the data was lost in as much detail as possible, including the device used (manufacturer and model) and operations performed.
  7. Describe the type of data in as much detail as possible (still/motion image, format, etc.)
  8. Specify CD-R or DVD-R as the media for storing recovered images.
    * Storing recovered images on any media other than media specified by us is unavailable.
  9. Remarks
  10. Provide the statement, "I have agreed with the note regarding the Sony CompactFlash card Image Recovery Service" with your signature.

* An application form without your signature will not be accepted.
* Agree to the note on the service prior to applying for the service.
* Do not enclose memory cards or products (devices) other than the Sony CompactFlash card.
